Croydon copywriting agency The Writing Room has launched a campaign to promote Croydon’s best bits.
The ‘We love Croydon’ campaign describes Croydon as “London’s most exciting borough”, a vibrant place full of unexpected treats.
The campaign is designed to change the outdated perception of Croydon as grey and uninspiring and to create a strong and positive identity for the Borough.
Ian Lavis, Director of The Writing Room, said: “Croydon gets a terrible national press which is largely undeserved. It’s actually a really vibrant place to live and work and has loads going for it. We want to focus on the positive attributes of the Borough to attract business and encourage a sense of pride.”
The Writing Room is producing a series of business mailers to fly the flag for Croydon. They state:
“Urban icon, business powerhouse, cultural melting pot, shoppers’ paradise - Croydon has it all. Strident, fast-paced and entrepreneurial, Croydon is London’s most exciting borough. Delve a little deeper and you will find down to earth people, witty street banter, green spaces and one of London’s most talked about new restaurants.”
The Writing Room is using the campaign to not only raise the profile of Croydon but to demonstrate the power of copywriting. “We are highlighting the best of Croydon to show businesses in the Borough what we can do for them. We are saying, ‘if we can do this for Croydon, imagine what we can do for you’. Many businesses suffer from the Croydon syndrome. They have great things to offer but they find it hard to convey it to prospects and customers. We make it easy by writing persuasive copy for brochures, websites, newsletters and other marketing material,” Ian Lavis said.
